Uhm, oops.
This is the most disasterous podcast we have ever done in the history of Zoë and Luna.
‘Totally Not Tater’ guest-stars on the show, Luna is crowned an Honorary Mexican, Zoë fails at editing, we poke-fun of TZO, and we scream very loud in response to Southern Raiders.
We are now the political satire of the Avatar community.
You have been warned.
Enjoy (?) my fellow Zutarians.

Yes, I was posting in their shoutbox,I knew you’d notice XD
That’s what happens when you make me wait for podcasts Zoë! ;]
I knew what you were talking about on TZO was the thing about the finale guy!

DARN YOU MADI! I FEEL A FIRST COMMENT WAR COMING! lol jk…maybe.

For the love of god you guys blasted my ear drums xD
I screamed from the loudness.

Great podcast! xD They were crying hahaha

LOL What’s with the Honorary Mexican thing?
And don’t worry Zoë I could make ya honorary Peruvian… but no one wants to be Peruvian, not even us Peruvian guys xDD
And wow, when Zoë is alone she is kinda… calm and quite ain’t she? Maybe its just my idea
And awwwwwww not fair! Wanted to hear the Avatar/StarWars thing!
LOL THE NICKEL BET! I totally reminded you of that one >_>; Luna was right on all acounts, yes Nick sucks like that, fucking mentally challenged network
0_0 WOW THEY STOLE THE SHOTBOX IDEA!! I have never gone to that TZO tho. So I wouldn’t know, but yeah they could at least give you guys some credit over it, which would be really cool… Is that really… are they crying over what that martialarts dude said? WTF!? I have to agree with you guys, it’s not like they came out to say the book was a fake, which would be so cool, but I doubt it will ever happen
As a side note: Yey for Irish Zoë! xDDD Irish girls are so hot…
ACK!! I actually had to low my compute’s volume like twice while you guys did all that screaming LOL Personally I got terribly mixed feelings about this whole episode, at the very least, don’t get me wrong the Zutaraness was totally awesome, from the Zuko saving Katara and then her saving him back, and yes, its a bit more adult as a whole this one episode, and yes the whole Sokka thing is just so great xD
The whole fight between Zuko and Azula was just the greatest, blue flames and bright yellow ones with hints of red just clashing one against the other, sweet battle so far, Zuko blocking untill he can get a good shot, and yes she looks so awesome with her hair lose…
Anyway this is getting way too long, so as always great podcast girls!
- The FireLord is dead long live Firelord Zuko!

Ok so I was listening to TZO and I have to admit I found annoying and irritating. I just could not stand the fan girly-ness of it all. Hence why I listen to you guys. But back to this podcast, I flipped when I saw yesterdays episode it was beyond brilliant. Well thats my opinion. Awesome podcast chickies! Wish I could go to SDCC but Texas is too far.

BLEH PEPSI *hates it* SANPELLEGRINO FTW, haha,*is drinking it right now* and OMG yus! It did seem rushed : ( . They should’ve shortened the boiling rock to one episode and made this into 2 in my opinion, but whataeversssss, AND I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE !! aahfkjdsfsjfs *freaking out* blah you made me laugh so much near the end *choking on drink*
Panda-Ink said this on July 18th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
Yeah, it was cool hearing my name, even though I pissed them off…I would do that though…
And yes, you guys killed my ears with your screaming…I quickly had to pull my earbuds out and I could still hear it loud and clear!
And I did listen to that TZO podcast you mentioned, and I had the same reaction! The crying and everything was sooo annoying. I knew they didn’t mean anything about ships, but the girls just freaked out and, ugh!
I know I posted at their shoutbox, just to talk to some other Zutarians, but I have to tell you their podcasts bug the crap out of me. You two pwn them completely.
Now that we know they come to your site I’m sure they’ll read this and I’ll have more people hating me, but it’s just my personal opinion. I love their art, but they are waaay too fangirly for me…
Anyway, now to the point of my post. I loved Southern Raiders, but at the same time I was totally disappointed. It was completely rushed. They fit so much into that one episode! Southern Raiders deserved two episodes, NOT flippin boiling rock! The forgiveness of Zuko was so rushed that it didn’t even seem right…I mean she was PISSED at him for betraying him, and he didn’t even have to give some heartfelt apology? She forgives him just for going on that mission? The moment was still cute, but I think I had a much higher expectation for all the buildup that relationship had!
Also Aang bugged the crap out of me in this episode. He tries to be all mature by saying she needs to forgive him, but he really doesn’t understand! He says he does and tells his whole story, but it’s completely different! Her mother was personally killed by that one man in protecting her, which is a way bigger deal than having Aappa stolen! I mean Aappa was still alive and he still flipped out on those guys. Katara lost her mom, her mom’s gone forever, for the reason of saving her! That would have so much more affect on her!
Another point, I think Zuko is the only one who knows the whole story on what happened to her mother. Aang doesn’t know how she was killed, just that she was. He probably assumes that she just got caught up in the attack and was killed. No, that man singled her out and killed her because he thought she was a waterbender. He knew EXACTLY what he did. Katara had every right to go look for him, and I don’t blame her for not forgiving him.
Aang’s nonviolence view is what nomad’s think, but he’s the AVATAR! He NEEDS to use violence to end the war! Zuko knows this, and Aang definitely looks like he’s going to have trouble with it. I went to see some Kataang reactions to this episode, and I saw a bunch of them going on about how much more mature Aang is than Zuko, and that’s total bullshit! Just because he believes she needs to just forgive the man who killed his mother? That’s more childish than anything! Yeah, she was right not to get revenge, but to forgive him? That’s not really possible, and I totally agree that Katara could never forgive him. Her speech when she decided not to was the view I expected from her.
Ok, I’m going to stop there before I rant TOO MUCH about that whole thing, because I need to say something about the preview as well (I know it’s already aired, but I haven’t watched it on my DVR yet). The guy she’s talking to when she says that Aang’s like her brother is Zuko! You didn’t recognize the crystal catacombs? I spotted it right away and I spazzed like crazy! They made that scene into a romantic one in the play! Gah I’m so excited I need to go watch that NOW! Oh and I saw the first few minutes of EIP before it aired and they showed the part where Zuko took Aang’s spot (which was left out of the trailer at NYCC!) XDD
Ok, sorry for the long post, but I need to go watch that episode now!
Madi said this on July 18th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Don’t worry Madi, we weren’t really mad at you! We know you love us!
And yeah we didn’t have the time to say all the things we wanted to say about Southern Raiders but Zoë had to get to work and Tater and I had to get in line for Dark Knight (which was awesome) so we didn’t really get into it. But we will! I think we’ll probably have to do a post show wrap up thing where we talk about all the episodes in one big long thing. It’ll also be our comic con send off.
So yeah, everyone enjoy Ember Island Players tonight! We’ll get to you when we can.

This was awesome!! But there’s one thing that I just noticed, the thing with Azula’s hair, when she falls she doesn’t lose her hair-pin-topknot-thingy.. When she like kinda slides down the rocky wall, she couldn’t have done that only with her hands (that would hurt if ya ask me), she smashes the hair-pin-thingy and to the wall and slides down it until she hangs still.. Ah well just wanted to point that out Better get to bed now, it’s just past 6:30 am here (Avatar started at 5.. but it’s worth it eventhough it’s weekend.. it sucks to live in Holland.. but yay for TVU)
Duran said this on July 18th, 2008 at 9:37 pm
I think my ear drums died from the spazzing and screaming.
The Southern Raiders has to be one of the best episodes evah! Though for some reason I had a feeling Mike and Bryan were trying to show that Zuko and Katara bring out the worst in each other…but they failed at that; naturally. Crazy hair down Azula was awesome and crazy, Katara & Sokka’s mum was pretty (and I admire her for what she did) and I loved Katara’s water dome. I’ve been trying to listen to TZO for the last couple of podcasts they’ve done, but I seem to just zone out half way and something else distracts me from listening.

The finale was awesome! I loved every bit, with a few exceptions…
The very end, with Maiko and Kataang, was lame. Not just because they ended in those pairings, but because it was in such a lame way! No buildup, no explanation to why they suddenly get together, nothing! It didn’t fit at all in the story, and that part of it seemed almost completely separate! Makes it easy to ignore it…
The second thing I didn’t like was spirit bending. I read the book, so I knew about it, but half of me thought it might have been changed. I was still praying through the whole thing that that part would be changed, and Ozai would be killed. Total cop-out, and so lame!
The other part: Ursa. What. the. fuck. We see Zuko ask Ozai about her, and that is IT! I suppose we are just to assume she’s dead. But that’s completely lame. He didn’t go looking for her at all. Bryke lied to us, and I’m pissed. This had BETTER be brought up at comic con! I want an explanation!!
Everything else: Amazing. Loved it. Jun mentioning the Zuko/Katara thing again, I knew she was going to say it, and I got so excited when she did! Azula going crazy was so awesome. She was completely nuts, and the animation made her seem even MORE insane than in the book. Me and my brother were LOVING IT! My brother didn’t even watch the end, btw. I told him it was Kataang and Maiko and he made a disgusted noise and just up and left…he’s a nonshipper mainly but he doesn’t like Kataang and I think he’s pretty Zutara…
Anyway, overall I was pretty pleased. I think the animation made up for most of the crap. The ending to Ozai, Maiko, and Kataang was dumb but we have a fandom to fix that! I can just ignore that and make my own ending, since the parts before that were pretty awesome.
I can’t wait to hear your podcast about the finale! I know it will be awhile since Zoë wasn’t able to watch it right away, but I’m anxious!
Madi said this on July 19th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
All I’m going to say is that there was some major lamebending in the very last part.
Sooo much lamebending…ugh.
Luna said this on July 19th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
I’ve heard so many bad things about the end of the finale that I don’t think I’ll watch it all, only the parts I think are awesome. Like Zuko/Iroh reunion and Zutara vs. Azula fight.

Here’s the last page of my Sozin’s Comet Notes.
I scribbled out the things I kind of didn’t want you to see but really rubbed out the things that I’m saving for the podcast.
Still….SPOILERS FOR THE FINAL FOUR EPISODES!!!! DON’T LOOK IF YOU’VE NOT WATCHED!!!!

Well I have to admit I somewhat enjoyed it. The Bending battle between Ozai and Aang was just so well done (especially when he entered the avatar state) and the music for the battle between Zuko and Azula…just beautiful!
I even have to admit I loved the expressions on Mai and Zuko’s faces when Mai told him he better not ever break up with her again. Very amusing.
I just have a few points.
1. Does anyone realize that Aang has the responsibility to bring back balance to the world? So unless there is a hidden group of Airbenders somewhere….That includes reviving the Air Nomads and Airbenders. The next Avatar will be a Waterbender, then Earth, then Fire…if there are no Airbenders after that…then the cycle of Avatars will be broken! That means he is not free to be with any one person (being with only one girl wouldn’t help spread the gene pool), and especially not a bender of a different nation! (to great a chance that the kid would be something other then an Airbender). His best chance of that is to be with girls from the area where his temples are (they are probably descendants of Air nomads that couldn’t bend). As wrong as this may sound…he needs to breed like a bunny to try to get some more Airbenders out there before he dies.
2. He is thirteen and she is fifteen right? I have never heard of a fifteen year old girl being attracted to a younger boy. Its kinda gross! In the real world she would be charged with unlawful sex with a minor (its happened, look it up and they have done jail time!) even though they both are minors she’s older so she takes the majority of the blame.
3. Is it even allowed to marry outside your own nation? I have never seen any relationships or marriages of a mixed nation on the show have you? Is it an unspoken taboo? It would explain why random Waterbenders aren’t born in the Earth Kingdom and vice versa.
well that’s it for me, its 3:45 am…I’m going to bed. Night!
Nightscream said this on July 20th, 2008 at 3:47 am
Nightscream I liked your point about making more Airbenders, and I’ve always believed that is true. I remember someone making a thread on DH or something about that. He needs to get a ton of air temple girls pregnant in order to start giving airbenders a comeback. The creators said it wasn’t likely, but if it doesn’t happen, the Avatar cycle will be broken, as Nightscream and many other people have pointed out. I guess my theory for that is that Bryke intends for the Avatar cycle to end. That even though no airbenders or Avatar throw off balance, that the people can keep balance themselves now…that’s the best I got for that
Madi said this on July 20th, 2008 at 8:39 am
They might be able to balance themselves…but remember “Crazy” seems to run in Zuko’s family, so I give it until Sozin’s comet comes around again in another 100 years before the Fire nation will try again…(I lack faith in their ability to be peaceful after 100 years of war and being the top dogs)
Nightscream said this on July 20th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
Ok, so I am guilty of being a casual listener of TZO, but they really do annoy me. I’m a total hardcore Zutarian but they fangirl like wayyyy worse than me (and thats really saying something…) And when Farah (or whatever her name is) started crying, I just laughed.
And I realized what Kisu meant when he said the whole “forget that crap” thing cuz I know how lame everything sounded coming from that book and I knew the actually finale would be better that the stupid book…
Lol, I was smart enough to turn down the volume before the spazzing started (and I’m immensely glad for that) But duuuude…the southern raiders was freaking bomb! (Even though it was like way rushed…actually, half the third season is way rushed) Zuko was so freaking cool, and katara was totally PMSing…
I hate how she forgave him so easily, It was cute and all, but I fell it needed like waaay more development! And the TophXZuko was sooooo cute!!!
Gosh, its gonna take me a while to catch up to the podcasts, I’ve been like dead to the internet lately. Sorry for the late comment!
